Week 3: Conditionals

Team

Wendy Wang, Alina Liu

Process

For this week's assignment, our initial idea was to do a human/animal figure that changes gesture by different cursor position or moving a slider. As we were discussing the actual implementation of the idea, Wendy mentioned that it might be too onerous to draw a figure in p5 and make it looks good. And slider in UI was often used for gradual movement, so it didn't correspond with our idea very well.

Then Wendy came up with this idea to use illustrations from Where the Wild Things Are as the original body parts, and users can mix and match different heads and legs to create their own monsters. I put those images into Photoshop and pre-trimmed them so that the size of the heads and the legs match. Then to see if they actually look correct, I loaded them into p5 and roughly built the buttons. Wendy made amazing changes in the background, buttons styling, copy, and final polishing our work.
